I’ve always been surprised by the lack of competition in the genre and I’m excited to see how The Sims evolves with some heat at its feet. Its yet to go into early access or go gold. As a lover of all things to do with simulation games, I have spent thousands of hours playing games like The Sims 4 only to find myself eventually disappointed. We only have a very brief glimpse at Life By You, but developer Paradox Tectonic and former Sims boss Rod Humble are holding an announcement event on March 20th - so, we’ll see more of the life sim later this month. If anything this game will probably force EA to make the Sims 5 a fun building and open world game again like the Sims 3 was, as this game appears to be doing exactly that.Paradox pulled a nifty trick when they supplanted EA's urban city builder with their own, and they're now hoping to strike twice with Life By You, a competitor to The Sims 4, complete with all the top-down interior design and people management you’d expect. But as this will be heavily focussed on modding i'm positive this game will be perfect for PC gamers that like to have freedom. I must admit i'm not that happy about the current art style, seems a bit like the Sims 4 art style, too cartoonish for me. Paralives allow you to use the imagination of the player and do not constrain any frames. Will this game be the saviour of the Life Sim genre? Just like how Planet Coaster saved the theme park building genre (Rollercoaster Tycoon) and how Cities Skylines saved the city building and managing genre (SimCity). The entire promotion for the game has been strategically done through the sims community, the first time I ever heard about paralives was from anonymous users on the forum posting about it and hailing it as 'What the sims 5 should be' and pushing it as being exactly what the sims community want, the same kind of promotion has been going on. So I do hope that this game will fill the void that Sims 4 created for me and bring me back to building nice houses. Well yeah, but this is a lot more than just that. Personally I never liked Sims 4 because they took out all the good stuff such as open worlds, create a style and anything fun building related which is pretty much the reason I played the Sims 3 for: to build my dream house and live in it. The team have pretty-much delivered everything that those in The Sims community have been begging for for years. Below you can find a selection of views showcasing the Paralives build abilities. Paralives is a highly-anticipated upcoming life simulation game, that was featured at E3 2021. Not much info is available yet but it looks to be a full life simulator with hopefully more building freedom than the Sims 4 had. It looks like there will finally be an alternative to the Sims which would mean the end of the monopoly EA has on The Sims. So much so that, as seen in the comments of the Reddit post above, it seems like a lot of The Sims players are planning to move onto Paralives after growing tired of The Sims 4.
